The Series

XOVERLAND's "Milestones: Global Expedition" (Season 7) is a 10-episode adventure travel series documenting a 25,000-mile overland journey from Montana to Cape Town, South Africa. The series follows 13 crew members driving two Toyota Tacoma Trailhunters and a Toyota Tundra across some of the most demanding terrain on the planet. Sponsored by Mobil 1, the expedition completed the entire distance on a single oil change as an extreme real-world test.

New episodes premiered weekly on Thursdays from March 26 through May 21, 2026.

The Journey

The expedition spanned three continents, pushing vehicles and crew through remote routes, extreme climates, and challenging road conditions. Episode 10, titled "To the Final Mile," captures the final leg of the journey into Cape Town and the culmination of months of overland travel across multiple countries.

The season finale received its first screening at the Overland Expo Film Festival at Overland Expo West (May 15-17, 2026) in Flagstaff, Arizona, followed by a post-screening panel with the expedition team.

Public Release

Episode 10: "To the Final Mile" releases today, May 21, 2026, at 5:00 PM MDT on the XOVERLAND YouTube channel. This marks the conclusion of the team's most ambitious expedition to date.

WOLFBOX Take: You Don't Need a Film Crew to Document a Journey

The headline is the single oil change, but the quieter takeaway from Milestones is that 25,000 miles got documented from Montana to Cape Town, mile by mile. Most of us will never cross three continents — but the instinct behind it translates to any big drive: the route, the terrain, the near-misses and the good days are worth having on record. XOVERLAND had 13 crew and a production budget. You just need the drive itself captured.

Two things separate a memorable overland trip from one you can actually revisit and rely on: a record of the drive, and a rig that's sorted for how loaded it gets on a long haul.

Document Your Own Expedition

  • Capture the whole drive. A WOLFBOX dash cam records your route continuously with GPS and a timestamp — the DIY version of a chase crew. It's your travel log, your highlight reel, and your evidence if a remote-road incident or insurance claim ever comes up.
  • Keep a rear view on a loaded rig. An expedition-packed truck — rooftop tent, spare, months of gear — leaves the factory mirror staring at cargo. A WOLFBOX smart rearview mirror camera restores the view with a live feed from a camera mounted outside the load.

How can I document my own overland trip?

A GPS-enabled dash cam records your route and the terrain continuously, giving you a travel log and a reviewable record without needing a film crew — plus footage to support an insurance claim after a remote-road incident.

Does an expedition-loaded truck block the rearview mirror?

Usually, yes. A rooftop tent, spare and months of gear sit in the mirror's line of sight. A streaming mirror dash cam restores the rear view with a live feed from a camera mounted outside the load.
