The Truck

Winnebago Industries unveiled the ARKA, its first purpose-built overland adventure truck, at Overland Expo West on May 15, 2026 in Flagstaff, Arizona. The ARKA is built on a modified Ram 5500 4x4 Crew Cab chassis with a BuckStop super single conversion, 41-inch mud-terrain tires, and a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel engine producing 360 horsepower and 800 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The truck features a zero-torsion four-point pillow-block mounting system that allows the camper box and cab to move independently over rough terrain. A one-piece molded fiberglass roof resists vibration and weather exposure. Exterior upgrades include a winch-ready front bumper, branch guards, off-road driving lights, and on-board air compressor with integrated winterization.

Power & Off-Grid Capability

The ARKA packs 16.8 kWh of lithium battery capacity (two 165Ah Lithionics 51V batteries) with an auxiliary 6500W alternator for on-the-go charging. Four 200W solar panels (expandable to 1,200W) provide renewable energy, supporting up to 14 days of off-grid operation in temperatures from -10ºF to 120ºF. Towing capacity is rated at 15,000 pounds.

The 20Z floorplan sleeps four and includes a full kitchen, wet bath, and dinette. Winnebago's Connect system provides off-road driving information display and system monitoring.

Expo Debut

The ARKA made its public debut at Overland Expo West on May 15-17, alongside over 400 exhibitors. Winnebago is now accepting pre-orders for the 2027 model year ARKA 20Z at a starting price of $331,901. Deliveries have not yet been announced.

WOLFBOX Take: The Overland RV You Can't See Out Of

The ARKA is built to take a house off-pavement — 41-inch mud-terrains, a super-single conversion, a winch-ready bumper, and a cab and camper box that move independently over rough terrain. It's genuinely impressive. It's also nearly blind. From up in a Ram 5500 cab you can't see the trail line beside 41s, and the camper box behind you erases the rear view entirely. An off-road RV you can't see out of becomes a liability in exactly the tight, technical places it's built to go.

A rig this capable needs eyes the chassis doesn't come with — down low for the trail, and out back for the box.

Give a Big Off-Road Rig Its Eyes

  • See the trail line beside 41s. The obstacle that stops a rig this big is the one you can't see over the hood or beside the tires. The 3-channel WOLFBOX G900TriPro (Bumper Version) adds a low, waterproof bumper camera that puts the ground-level line right on your mirror as you pick your way through.
  • Replace the rear view the box takes away. A camper box blocks the rear glass completely. A WOLFBOX smart rearview mirror camera streams a live feed from a rear camera mounted outside the box, so lane changes and backing into a site aren't blind guesses.

A low bumper or ground-level camera shows the trail line you can't see over the hood or beside oversized tires, while a streaming mirror dash cam restores the rear view a camper box blocks — together they cover the two worst blind spots on a large overland rig.
